Beautiful antique snuff box, made of ebony wood with bone decorations.  Possibly sailor made.  
	
Clever sliding lock mechanism, nice puzzle.  Nice bone detail on the end to hold the lid in place.  Painted on the inside. Bottom is carved of one piece of wood.
